Thanksgiving pictures

Here are a couple of shots of our late Thanksgiving feast a couple of weekends ago.

full plates... yummy!

Brooks slept until half-way through the meal, so it started with just two of us, but he caught up quickly, at least on the healthier items anyway.

Brooks was a big fan of the turkey and green beans, but he inhaled the sweet potatoes. Anyone surprised? We sure weren't!!

Does anyone else wonder how they got that picture of the 2 of them? Did they put Brooks on the refrigerator and teach him how to push the button? Hhhmmmm? Or maybe he has learned to crawl up and balance and push buttons...

More pictures would be nice...when the camera gets replaced! : (

Clearly you weren't watching Eric in Italy! He is a master with the timer! :)

As SC and I have reflected on Thanksgiving, we decided that it was sort of a rite of passage for us as a family to celebrate a major holiday on our own, just the 3 of us. Not necessarily something we're hoping to do all the time, or even all that regularly, but things like this establish us as a separate and unique family unit distinct from either of the families that we grew up in. I guess we both felt a bit more grown up than usual. It was good.

looks delightful! sounds like Brooks thoroughly enjoyed his first "real" thanksgiving (as, well, last year, he could care less). :)
